Our Story · About Tales of Coffee
Coffee, Cinema & Books: Why Every Cup Has a Story
Born in Bangladesh out of a lifelong devotion to specialty coffee, arthouse cinema, and enduring literature.

In the cultural memory of Bengal, coffee has never been merely a morning stimulant. It is the quiet architecture behind three-hour conversations about cinema, dog-eared novels passed from hand to hand, and ideas debated long after the rain has stopped outside.
The Stamp of the Cup & the Page
Our emblem, a vintage bookplate-style stamp uniting the letter T, a steaming cup, and the letter C, is a promise of authenticity. Every pouch we dispatch is treated like a first-edition print run.
Founded by a Literary & Film Critic
Tales of Coffee was founded by a writer and critic whose life has been shaped by cinema halls, private bookshelves, and the ritual of manual coffee brewing. While specialty coffee culture in Bangladesh has grown rapidly inside cafés, brewing genuinely characterful coffee at home, and finding spaces for serious, welcoming cultural conversation, remained surprisingly rare.

From Online Platform to Cultural Space
Today, we operate as an online coffee house and cultural platform, keeping our focus entirely on selection quality, fair pricing, and community programming without the overhead of a traditional storefront. Our longer-term horizon is to establish a physical cultural hub in Dhaka where our tasting room, screening room, and reading library live under one roof.
